title: H1N1 UPDATE :D
date: Sunday, June 28, 2009
time:11:53 PM
H1N1 UPDATE: 599 cases. Wow luckily it has missed 600 by ONE.

PEOPLE, WE'RE DYING HERE!

Apparently it has increased from yesterday's 454 by 145 cases. 145! IN A DAY! LAST TIME IT WAS ONLY 26 OR SOMETHING! That's like... 5 TIMES THE PAST RATE.

So my estimation of Singapore's H1N1 count reaching 1000 in a month is highly inaccurate. Give it a week and it'll break the 1000 barrier.

Joy.

I don't know why the 7 days quarantine thing hasn't been working. I mean, maybe it has been working, but the increase in H1N1 cases is getting bigger and bigger and mannnn I feel like we're goners.

Go visit moh.gov.sg and you'll realise that we have UPGRADED to the list of " countries with community spread/has export cases". And we're so tiny and we already have 599 cases. We've currently beat Hong Kong, Spain, New Zealand, Philippines, Panama (I suppose i'm too dumb to know where that is), Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Germany, France, Korea, Italy, Malaysia, India, Vietnam and Switzerland.

The next thing we know, we're going to be counting in thousands.

MAAAAAAAAN.

title: SINGGGGLISH.
date: Tuesday, June 23, 2009
time:10:46 PM
H1N1 UPDATE! : SINGAPORE HAS OFFICIALLY 194 CASES NOW. I did my math, and since the count increases by like 20+ everyday, at this rate, it'll be approximately 40 days before it reaches 1000.

LOL.

As I said, "AT THIS RATE". LOL. If it lessens and lessens then, well. GOOD. (:

ANYWAY today was really busy. Well it SEEMED really busy to me anyway HAHAHA. Jia-En and MinLi came over to edit the badges, and while it was fun, it was HARDDDDDDD WORKKKKKK. I'm NOT going to repeat the entire process again. It's been a long time since I used photoshop, and I hardly think I ever drew anything in sec 3. Because life is THAT hectic. Apparently I owe my mom and dad birthday and mothers'/fathers' day presents. LOL. I usually just draw, but ARGHHHHHH. Time is a miser.

Then after we edited the badges and everything, we went to print, and LOTS of problems kept popping out, but we were so amazing and thus successful mitigated the problems. BANZAI!

...Right. Sighhhh apparently I'm too tired to type a proper entry. HAHAHAHA.

MAYBE when I feel hyped up I can totally write about this again.

OH YEAH, while I went to tuition with Christan and Modie just now, then we were talking about Singapore's SINGLISH. HAHA. Or something. Then Christan said she saw a group named something like, "Singapore sucks" or something, and then someone in it wrote that our language is totally incomprehensible with all the lah leh lorhs and whatever.

Then we were like talking about the practicality of Singlish. While I myself am not very fond of Singlish, I do admit that something about it just appeals to people who use it. Firstly Singlish is not long-winded. You may notice that most people using Singlish merely say the important words they need to express a feeling. Proper English says, "There is no CCA on Thursday." but Singlish says, "Thursday no CCA.", omitting "There, is, and on" which is, YOU HAVE TO ADMIT IT, unnecessary for you to convey anything. You can say something like, "There is on!" but it won't make any sense. Singlish is practical in that sense. :D Take all the nouns and adjectives and BOOM you understand each other. YAY!

Then Christan said she once saw a video, where someone was in an MRT and wanted the person sitting down to get up and offer a seat to an elderly. Or something like that. Then the person speaking Queen's English would go like, "Excuse me, would you be so kind as to offer your seat?" which would take like 3 secs but then Singlish would just be, "Oi siam lah!" which is like, 1 sec. HAHAHAHAHA.

Then in the library right, then someone goes like, "Sorry, but can you please keep quiet?" which takes 2 secs but someone smarter just goes like, "Diam lah!" which is like 1 sec AGAIN. SEE HOW PRACTICAL SINGLISH IS? AMAZING.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Everyone should go google now and search, "English vs Singlish ppt" and take the first link by 100attitude. HAHAHA.

When someone offers to pay:
British: Hey, put your wallet away, this drink is on me.
Singaporeans: No need lah

When doubting someone:
British: I don't recall you giving me the money.
Singaporeans: Got meh?

HAHAHAHAH OMG FUNNNNNNY OK! HAHAHAH. ANYWAY. ;X I can't believe I'm promoting Singlish. BUT SINGLISH IS WHAT MAKES SINGAPORE SINGAPORE! We are UNIQUE. (:

LONG LIVE SINGLISH HAHA.

A short post this time.

Just wanted to say, AHHHHHH so many things to do! The whole WKW challenge thing is really killing me, and there's still CCA next week and tons of tuitions I HAVE to attend and OHHHH man I really wonder when I can finish my homework, really.

And HAHA yesterday I went over to Jia-En's house with Minli to try out the cupcake recipe. The first time was HAHAHAHA a half-failure, because we underestimated the wonders of self-raising flour, until it was an inch away from exploding in the oven itself ROFL. Oh man hilarious.

ANYWAY gtg tuition now. SEE?! And after that I've to go and meet my mom's colleagues and my friends (: cos my mom arranged a badminton session AND dinner with them and I still need to prepare for my WKW thing tomorrow (OH NOOOO) and the WKW thing starts in the morning tomorrow ends around 5 to 6 and I'll be having piano at night so HOWWWW WHAT am I supposed to do about my Home-based learning?! It ends at 10pm, oh man feel like dying.

AND IT'S NOT as if I don't want to postpone my piano, really, but then on Tuesday we'll be having CCA and I'm already going to have English tuition at night (SIGH) and then Wednesday Jia-En-tachi are coming over again to do the cupcake recipe and Thursday I'll be having Violin AND Japanese AND CCA. Friday's probably the only free day, but my piano's usually on saturday (and my piano teacher postponed it to monday this time) SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!?! Oh man I feel like jumping off a cliff.

OH MAN suddenly I feel having ALPS is much better.

title: Piano. (:
date: Saturday, June 20, 2009
time:12:21 AM
Well turns out that I do have something more to say. HAHAHA.

Apparently I've changed my blogskin (AGAIN) yes again. Usually changing blogskins give me an urge to update. HAHA. Which lasts for like... a reaaaaaally short while, anyway. And I've really forgotten how tedious it is to change a blogskin. Firstly we have to like, host the pictures on our own so the bandwidth won't exceed and yadda yadda. (And I still have no idea what's bandwidth, srsly)

Well why the piano then? Actually I was just going on blogskins.com, and then I saw the featured skin and man I just took to it immediately. And that's usually how I choose blogskins. I just glance through all the skin of the days (HAHAHA) and the one that catches my eye is usually the one I'll get. Simple as that.

And also cos I searched for "pineapple" in the skins and there wasn't such a skin. WHY NOT SHARE THE PINEAPPLE LOVE, PEOPLE?! WHY?!

Anyway, I've always gone for simple skins because simple is the new fantastic (and also cos people won't bother me with comments like, "Why is your skin so girly?" or "Why is your skin so complicated?" or "Why is your skin so emo?" HAHA IN YOUR FACES). BUT like I said, I've ALWAYS gone for simple skins. Why not something a little different?

And yes, I think I'm aware of the fact that this current skin is rather... bright. Or something. Maybe it's because of the sunlight streaming through a non-existent window (or is it from the lamp?). Or maybe cos it's orange. And uh yeah I'm aware of the fancy butterflies fringing the picture; drop it.

WELLLLLL. I'm not going to say it's cheery, more of like, serene. Melancholic. Gives you a nostalgic kind of feel. (Only that I don't feel nostalgic cos I never had a grand piano. NOR a flight of stairs next to it) But all I can say that it feels right, and it fits, because piano playing is usually something nostalgic and makes you reminisce (like you see in old films, it's always like flashing back to them playing the piano or something... think cliche) and piano playing is supposed to be serene. Tranquil, kind of. What else can it be? (Ignoring jazz and stuff URGH Baroque pieces KILL ME)

Oh actually I haven't really got to the point HAHA. I really like to beat around the bush, but I usually don't notice it. Like, now. Okay anyway. Why a piano? Simple. Cos I like playing the piano. THE END! :D

HAHAHA. Yeah yeah I know loooots of people play the piano. If I wanted to be special I should just choose a blogskin with a violin on it or something and flaunt the fact that I play the violin. Yes, good idea. Only that I can't play the violin well. (Unless you think that screeching noises and sounds of a frog dying is melodious, then I'm a violin prodigy) Not to say that I'm an expert in piano playing, but STILL.

Actually I've three hobbies that most people don't. Well not to say hobbies, more of like, classes, which are piano, violin, and Japanese. I've talked about why I didn't choose a violin skin. I believe I don't even have to explain why I didn't choose a Japanese skin. You see, people have some misconception about Japanese. They think all people who sprout random Japanese words wanna 1. Act cute 2. Act cool 3. Act smart. UHHHH, which is not true 100% of the time. Japanese culture is cute, it's supposed to be cute (if not where did anime and lolita maids come from?) And of course yes, lots of people (usually young girls) says stuff like, "KAWAII! <3" (oh you hear this everywhere) and "HONTOOOO? :O" and "ARIGATO GOZAIMASU (:" all the time just to, yeah, act-cute, but that's their problem really (you can identify such people by noticing their tone, which is usually high-pitched and girlish, and their accent, which is hoooorrendous). People sprout Japanese words because they LIKE the culture, and respect it. That's it. And obviously if I chose a Japanese skin I'll be placed in the former category (which is -shudders- the act-cute one and did I mention how I hate to be called act-cute SERIOUSLY WHAT?! OOC MUCH) so TADAH. No japanese skin for me. Even though there are toooons out there.

And actually I didn't like playing piano from the start. Probably because my first piano teacher was, sigh, a very scary one. In my point of view, obviously. Uh, in my VERY YOUNG point of view. I was only like, 7 to 11 back then. Well she liked to hit my arm or hand or whatever when I don't play well (obviously cos I didn't practise ROFL. Well she killed my interest at that time!) and I really hated piano lessons and then she'll scold me every single lesson. Every single time. REALLY. Every time a piano lesson ended I would prance out with a chastised look on my face, but a very happy heart because THE TORTURE ENDED!!! And it usually lasts for like, an hour. I CAN TAKE IT, really.

Then I told my mom many many times I wanted to quit piano, but she never did let me. She said, "You'll thank me in the future." and as much as I really hate to admit it, I do thank her (a teeny weeny bit, says my pride) because I've learnt to love the piano. Knowing how to play the piano makes you feel different, makes you feel a little gifted, because you can make melodies that not everyone can. Then you think, 'This is me playing the piano, my fingers running over the ivory keys, it's me creating this song' and you feel better. Well, better. Marginally. HAHA.

Wellllll that's the end. Because it's 1:03am now and I really wanna sleep. (:

[HAHA VERY FUNNY my bro was looking at my computer screen just now when I was typing the post, and I was like, "Stop peeking at my screen." and he was like, "No, I'm not peeking, I'm looking." "Shamelessly," I added. Then my mom was like, "Is there anything fun to look at? I shall joined in!" and she did so.

So in order to entertain my viewers I opened a site and typed in "andywong.youarelame.com" and you may ask what the heck is that, and actually it's really easy. You can just type ANYTHING, or anyone's name or whatever before the ".youarelame.com" and you'll arrive at a website, with whatever you've typed at the background while insults pop out and proceeds to do some ego-bashing. Well actually I don't even understand half the insults, but ones like, "You smell like fish" and "Your pet rock bit you" and "Your IQ and your shoe size is almost the same" or something made me laugh so bad HAHAHA.

Then my bro was like, "Okay. Fine." and then he got up and faked a sniffle and said, "My sister doesn't love me!" and I said, "Yeah, yeah, go rant in your little diary." and we cracked up laughing HAHAHAHA.

Okay right. :D]

title: NO ALPS.
date: Friday, June 19, 2009
time:10:45 PM
ALPS is cancelled, and all I can say is...

HELL YEAH!!!

Finally I don't have to chiong all my homework and that chinese  book and don't have to worry about what I'm going to do about the Wee Kim Wee challenge on Monday and suddenly I have a lot more times on my hands. To which I say, THANK YOU, GOD.

But it's cancelled due to H1N1, and that's not exactly good news. I've done my research (which is not much) and found out that 77 cases in Singapore has been reported, and 1 case has been said to have been infected in Singapore herself and all I can say is "OH MANZSXZSX."

It's being kinda like SARS, which brings me back to Primary Three where we didn't have school for like, eternity. Now that we're going to have two weeks more of holidays, I'm not complaining, but still, the situation is kindddd of dire. [Now I'm like checking the Straits Times icon on the iPod touch like every single day]

Well this concludes my entry. Apparently I'll post more often, with shorter entries (unless I really have inspiration/something to rant about/something interesting to say). (: At least it would be... less dead. :D HAHA.

title: REOPENING CEREMONY :D
date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009
time:8:56 PM
Well...

I think it's time for my blog to reopen. :D

Yeah yeah you may scroll down and see utterly no new posts since who knows when but actually I made quite a number of posts... just not public. LOL so they're actually not visible to you guys, but ANYWHO. OPEN SESAME!!!

Right.

Anyway, LOTS of things has happened. There has been the mid-year examinations, as well as farewell for Guides, holidays, blahblahblah. And I'm also painfully aware of the fact that this blog is public, meaning ANYONE from anywhere at any time is able to see whatever I type, which is kind of saddening since I have to like, 'sieve out' information that is not public-friendly.

Meaning I can't rant about people, I can't disclose any information regarding my CCA, can't talk about secrets can't talk about private stuff can't do really anything but ANYWAY. I'm sure everything shall work out fine. :D

First thing, mid-year examinations. Weeeeeeeeeeell. If you asked me before I have gotten my results back, I would have said that it has to be the worst exam I've ever attempted in Secondary School. But apparently my results say otherwise. And I have no idea why. I was so sure I was going to flunk my Physics, but I had an A2. (Which is really pretty amazing since I left like 324092098 questions blank) and my other subjects didn't really let me down either. But omg my Emaths I have NO idea what happened so yeah.

From all my exams from sec 1 to now, I did the best in this one, and I still don't know why. Because I felt like I really did my worst, but I'm not really complaining. It's my first taste of a Secondary 3 exam, which spanned over like, almost two weeks (and they were the most hellish two weeks i've ever experienced, because I banned myself from the computer for like those two weeks plus an extra week and mugged everyday and felt like DYING really).

Mugging is not fun. Well yes, you say, we've kind of knew that already. But it really is no fun, and to me, someone who really likes to have fun, it's horrible. But I feel accomplished, because I haven't been on the computer for 3 weeks during that exam period, and WHOA a miracle. That's like the longest time I've ever banned myself from the computer (BANNED MYSELF! MYSELF!) since like, I don't know, primary two? I'm not going to deny the fact that I'm a computer freak, because there are really things you can't find anywhere else but the computer itself, which makes it really amazing. HAHAHA. And I mean decent things. :\

ANYWAY midyear exams are OVER and let's just forget about it. NEXT. Farewell.

I don't think I'm supposed to say anything about whatever happened in Farewell, but maybe I can just like, say a LIIIIIIITTLE. Okay. Farewell this year was really different from the last two that I've experienced, and lots of problems popped out in the preparation (like the date, time, duration, price, venue) and I really have to kowtow in admiration to the farewell ICs. Organising a farewell is not easy, not in the least.

The theme was fun, which was Horror, and it leaves much room to be explored, but alas, time doesn't really permit. But still, we did our best, and Nana came up with a good idea of using the piano to bring out the scary atmosphere, so we found that classic Beethoven piano piece you hear everywhere and I did my best to master it (only a short part though) within the time limit. Jia-En and I also did a little duet-y thing on D.Gray-Man's 'Road's Song', a piece which I love to bits because it's so crazily SIMPLE yet so effective. Because it really is creepy. LOL. The night before the actual farewell itself I went to learn another quite easy song, "Secret" from Vampire Knight (an anime I'm really noooot into but oh wells) and yeah. So yay. (: And I had like 5 other songs from D.Gray at hand too, just in case.

[SEE WHO SAYS ANIMES ARE STUPID AND LAME AND IDIOTIC? Get your heads checked. NOW.]

Well I'm glad everyone put in effort to their respective level items and they did come out successful :D. BUT I'M REALLY ARGHHHH-PISSED AT THE FACT THAT -insert rant here because i'm not really supposed to say anything- oh my gosh WHATTTT -LALALA- PLEASE! Argh. We're not even having a FAIR say in things. We can't really judge everything by -LALA-, people. Just because -LALALALALA- doesn't mean you can just -LALALALALA- and ignore what other people say. And you're not supposed to go like, "HERE YOU'RE -LALALA-" and then NOT give us any other information as to what we're supposed to -LALA- then expect us to do a good job of it. And saying things like -LALALA- please find -LALALA- does not help at ALL! Omg please put yourself in our shoes and see if you like it. Seriously.

Anyway LOL. What I really regret is that we the sec 3s were really unable to like get into the farewell mood and everything, because of the TIME LIMIT, and how things are often rushed and we have to see what's the next activity blahblahblah ARGHHHH!!! -LALALA- is really unreasonable sometimes GEEZ. Anyway I really wish all of the sec 4s luck in their O'level exams. (:

Okay anyway my bro is back from US (and no we're not harbouring any H1N1 in our house right now) and well HAHAHAHAH. I guess he hasn't really changed, but became reallllyyyyyy extroverted (under the western influence I guess) and sprouts a curse word once in a while (and I make sure to whack him hard whenever this happens). BUT HE ATE ALL MY CUPCAKES I MADE!!! RAWR WHAT THE!

Ahem anyway. ARGHHH okay this post is long. WELL GOODNIGHT EVERYONE.
